Graduate students + former NCAA athletes
Your college lacrosse career does not have to end with your bachelor’s degree.
NAU Women’s Lacrosse Club is actively recruiting graduate students and former NCAA athletes—including Division I players—who want to keep competing while earning an advanced degree in Flagstaff.
You still have more lacrosse in you. We want you on our field.
Introduce yourselfAnother degree. Another season.
Your next degree can come with another season.
Graduate school can be the start of your next competitive chapter. Bring your experience to a coached club program, compete in WWLL Division 2 South, and build a new community in Flagstaff.
The WCLA is separate from NCAA varsity competition. USA Lacrosse removed the WCLA’s four-year participation cap for the 2026 season, creating a path for eligible full-time graduate students—including athletes who already played four collegiate seasons—to keep playing.

Experience belongs on the field We want experienced players
You can raise the level immediately.
Former collegiate athletes bring pace, discipline, leadership, and game knowledge that can change a roster. If you played NCAA Division I, II, or III lacrosse—or competitive college club lacrosse—we want to hear from you.
- Tell us your position, previous school, division, and seasons played.
- Share your NAU graduate program or application status.
- Include film if you have it; a polished recruiting packet is not required.
- Ask directly about current practice, travel, dues, and eligibility expectations.
Eligibility, plainly stated
Former NCAA players may be eligible.
NAU Sport Clubs are open to eligible undergraduate and graduate students. WCLA participation also requires full-time enrollment and compliance with current academic, league, university, and roster rules. The team will review your situation before participation is confirmed.
Graduate player questions
Know before you reach out.
Current answers for experienced players considering another season at NAU.
Can graduate students play women’s club lacrosse at NAU?
Yes. Current NAU guidance opens Sport Clubs to undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing, subject to the requirements of the university, the club, and its governing organizations.
Can a former NCAA Division I, II, or III player join?
Former NCAA players may be eligible to play in the WCLA at NAU. The team will review each player’s situation against current NAU, WCLA, WWLL, enrollment, academic, and roster requirements before participation is confirmed.
Is there still a four-year WCLA participation limit?
USA Lacrosse announced that the WCLA removed its four-year participation cap for the 2026 season. Eligible full-time students may participate regardless of how many previous seasons they played, while all other current eligibility requirements still apply.
Does team interest affect admission to graduate school?
No. Graduate admission, club interest, and roster eligibility are separate processes. Contacting the team does not influence admission or guarantee a roster position.
What should a graduate player include in an introduction?
Share your intended or current graduate program, NAU application or enrollment status, graduation timeline, position, previous college team and division, seasons played, an optional film link, and what you want from another season.
