NAU Women’s Lacrosse Club respects the privacy of players, recruits, alumni, families, supporters, and other visitors. This policy explains what this website collects, why it is collected, how it is handled, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to submit through our forms and member features. Depending on the form, that may include your name, email address, phone number, graduation or class year, playing background, location, message, recruiting information, alumni interests, communication preferences, or story and photo permissions. The private Players Club may also contain account details and member-created content such as notes, suggestions, and coach updates.
Our website and Wix hosting services may automatically receive limited technical information needed to deliver, secure, and improve the site, such as IP address, browser or device type, approximate location, referring page, pages visited, timestamps, and error or performance information.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; manage recruiting, team, alumni, and supporter relationships; provide requested member features; administer the club; protect the site; troubleshoot and measure site performance; and send club or alumni email only when appropriate. Alumni story submissions are reviewed privately. Checking the story-permission box allows us to contact you about a possible feature; it does not authorize automatic publication.
Choice and consent
Newsletter and marketing consent is optional and separate from submitting an alumni update. The checkbox is not preselected. You may withdraw that consent or unsubscribe from future marketing email at any time. We will not make an alumni email address public through this website.
Wix and other service providers
This site is built and hosted with Wix. Wix processes form submissions, contacts, member authentication, blog content, hosting, security, and basic operational or performance data on our behalf. We may also use service providers that help us operate communications or respond to requests. They receive information only for those functions and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices. We do not state or imply that Wix endorses the club.
Cookies and similar technology
Wix and the site may use cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary for security, authentication, navigation, forms, and reliable operation, and may collect basic performance information. We do not currently run advertising cookies or a separate third-party behavioral advertising program on this site. Because no optional advertising-cookie program is currently configured, the site does not display a consent banner for one. If our practices change, we will update this policy and add controls when required. Your browser can block or delete cookies, but some forms or member features may then stop working.
Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, ongoing club administration, legal or safety obligations, dispute resolution, and backup cycles. Information that is no longer needed may be deleted or de-identified. You may ask us to correct or delete information, subject to records we must retain and technical backup limitations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to people who need information for club operations. No website, account, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send sensitive financial, medical, government-identification, or password information through a public form.
Children under 13
This site is intended for college students, prospective college students, alumni, families, and supporters—not children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to submit personal information. A child under 13 should not use our forms or member features. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Your privacy choices
You may ask what information you submitted, request a correction or deletion, withdraw optional newsletter consent, or ask not to be considered for a public alumni feature. We will take reasonable steps to verify and respond to the request. We do not sell alumni or player contact information.
Email practices
Club marketing emails must use accurate sender information and subject lines and provide a clear way to unsubscribe. Opt-out requests will be honored. The club will not begin a marketing newsletter campaign until it has a valid postal mailing address for the required campaign footer.
Links and public posts
The site links to third-party websites, including Northern Arizona University and league resources. Their privacy practices apply when you leave this site. Information published in Team News or an approved alumni feature is public, but private form submissions are not public posts.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or our practices change. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be posted here before or when they take effect.
